Earlier Fun Ticket Adventures

We were recently contacted by Jose Aponte who spent most of the 90s aboard Fun Ticket, and gave him a tour of the yacht just the other day. Here's what he emailed us afterwards:

Loved to see the Fun Ticket again. From 1992 to 1999 I was the Vice-President of Crossland Boiler Works in Puerto Rico. The company owned the F/T back then. Tom Crossland, President, won many fishing tournaments throughout the Virgin Islands at that time. Tom moved back to Texas in 1996 so I was in charge of the company and the Fun Ticket. My daughter Soleil (today 21) grew up on the boat. We had many family and friends during the weekends on trips to Vieques, Culebra, St. Thomas and around the little islands of Puerto Rico. Yes it was a favorite fishing boat to Joe Kennedy, son of Robert and Patrick Kennedy, son of Edward. I was there on many fishing trips with them. It was also chartered by Mariah Carey and latin singer Luis Miguel. I have a huge sentimental attachment to the Fun Ticket. It brings many good memories. I am glad she's being taken good care of and loved by you guys. Wish you guys many years to enjoy the Fun Ticket like I did.
Regards..!

Hurricane Lenny

THE FUN TICKET has served us well.  In November 1999, we were welcomed to the Caribbean by Hurricane Lenny.  We were in 18-foot seas for 12 hours between St. Barts and Antigua. You have heard the phrase “Thank God I was in a Bertram.”  Well, we lived it!  With waves going over the fly-bridge, I learned she is a very seaworthy vessel.  My wife and I meandered up and down the islands and eventually settled in Trinidad  for hurricane season.
